Our team brings together a wide range of experience in online auctions, industrial assets and logistics. Every member plays an important role in delivering a smooth auction process, from preparing accurate listings and managing warehouse operations to coordinating collections and supporting buyers and vendors. We take pride in our work and are committed to providing a professional, straightforward service from start to finish.

Sam Brown

Sam founded Skylarc in 2017 and has 25 years in the auction industry. A pioneer of online industrial auctions, he transitioned to an entirely Trade Me-based auction model in 2009 and has since built some of New Zealand's largest and most successful Trade Me accounts, achieving more than NZ$40 million in sales through the platform.

With extensive knowledge of engineering plant, machinery and industrial assets, Sam has managed the sale of thousands of assets from business closures, liquidations and restructures throughout New Zealand. He is passionate about supporting New Zealand's engineering and manufacturing sectors and helping vendors achieve the best possible returns through transparent, competitive online auctions.

Outside of Skylarc, Sam imports and maintains BYD e6 electric vehicles, designs and builds replacement Nissan Leaf battery packs, and enjoys spending time with his horses.

Joe Kalee

Joe combines an eye for detail with exceptional organisation to produce high-quality auction listings and manage the hundreds of items Skylarc ships throughout New Zealand. With 16 years of online auction experience, he brings extensive knowledge of online selling and buyer expectations.

From creating accurate, professional listings to ensuring every couriered item is packed and dispatched efficiently, Joe helps deliver a smooth, trouble-free experience for both buyers and vendors.

Outside of work, Joe is a YouTube creator, photographer, tramper and traveller with a strong interest in geography and GIS systems.

Keith Boulton

Keith plays a key role in ensuring buyer collections run smoothly, safely and efficiently. Whether coordinating collections at Skylarc's Christchurch auction facility or managing the complexities of an onsite auction, he's always ready to help and is just as happy loading a trailer as he is solving logistical challenges.

Known for his practical approach and friendly attitude, Keith helps deliver a seamless collection experience for buyers and vendors alike.

Outside of work, Keith is passionate about the outdoors, is a keen gym-goer, and has a strong interest in environmental sustainability and social justice.

Michael Davey

Michael brings more than 15 years of auction industry experience to the Skylarc team, including managing a large commercial auction house. His expertise in warehouse operations and auction logistics helps ensure every sale runs efficiently, with careful attention to detail and a focus on getting every step of the process right.

With a strong understanding of auction workflows and site operations, Michael plays a key role in keeping the warehouse organised and ensuring each auction runs smoothly from start to finish.

Outside of work, Michael is a keen mountain biker.
