Hotel Motel Productions where a small Christchurch based manufacturer of curtains and other commercial soft furnishing products for the commercial sector. They were placed into liquidation in April 2019.

The Challenge

The manufacturing facilities were located on the first floor of an older commercial building with the only access a narrow stairwell. Due to the value of the plant and machinery and the complex building, removing the stock from the site would prove to be a significant cost. The plant of the company consisted of 8 industrial sewing machines and overlockers along with sewing tables and various supplies.

The Process

Skylarc negotiated with the landlord to pay for the site for an additional month to run the auction. The site organised the site and the machines cleaned for sale. Skyarc described, photographed and tested all machinery providing buyers with as much information as possible. The auction was a small event consisting of 49 lots with a setup time of two days. The auction ran online for seven days.

The Result

All machinery and stock was sold within the timeframe and the building was returned to the owner. An open and transparent process which maximised the return on these machines. The client was very happy with theĀ  sale results.
